Auxerre

Acrylic on wood panel. Ready to hang. Signed on the reverse.

Inspired by the Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois church in Paris. Inscriptions taken from tombs in the church known as the 'artists' parish' throughout the city's history. Along with the text, I also took inspiration from parts of the crumbling neogothic decoration throughout the interior of the gothic church.
